The breed has been made popular by a number of royal owners since the 18th century
Care and Health
They are not a high maintenance dog as far as grooming goes, they do have a double coat consisting of a harsher outer coat and a thick, dense undercoat and they do shed. They are prone to serious health concerns such as intervertebral disc disease and canine hip dysplasia (CHD), as well as issues like epilepsy and degenerative myelopathy.
