History

The Double Doodle is an offshoot of the growing popularity in designer or hybrid dogs that first surfaced back in the 1970s and ‘80s. The goal of creating a hybrid is to introduce special attributes associated with certain breeds, but often in a smaller format dog. Additionally, breeders wanted to produce dogs that would boast the traits of their purebred parents, just with a lower risk of breed-specific health issues. As a result, the Double Doodle offers the gentle nature of both the Labrador and Golden Retrievers.
