This breed originated in Newfoundland, Canada in the 1700s.
Care and Health
Prone to hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, gastric torsion, and several eye issues. Their thick coat requires brushing several times a week to avoid matting. This dog is generally lazy so monitor its exercise to prevent weight gain.

This breed has an amazing swimming capability and can bring drowning people to shore.
