History
This breed originated in the rugged Shetland Islands of Scotland in the 1800s.
Care and Health
Prone to progressive retinal atrophy, hip dysplasia, hypothyroidism, and Sheltie skin syndrome. Requires weekly brushing and more frequent brushing during shedding season.
Fun Fact
Dogs of this breed looks very similar to Collies.
Good For
Owners with land, families with children, but these dogs are easily adaptable!
