History

The small white fox-working terriers we know today were first bred by the Reverend John Russell, a parson and hunting enthusiast born in 1795, and they can trace their origin to the now extinct English white terrier.

Care and Health

They can suffer from serious eye diseases such as lens luxation and cataracts, joint diseases such as luxating patella, heart disease, epilepsy, and more. Brushing on a regular basis will help the excesive shedding, brushing of teeth and clipping nails must be done on a regular basis.

Fun Fact

Their high energy and drive make these dogs ideally suited to a number of different dog sports such as flyball or agility.
